Barbell Sumo Squats

Barbell Sumo Squats are a lower body exercise that targets the quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, and inner thighs. To perform them, stand with your feet wider than shoulder-width apart and toes pointed slightly outward. Grip a barbell with an overhand grip, hands wider than shoulder-width apart, and position it in front of you on the floor. Keeping your chest up and back straight, lower your body by bending your knees and pushing your hips back until your thighs are parallel to the ground or slightly lower. Push through your heels to return to the starting position, squeezing your glutes at the top. Adjusting your stance width can emphasize different muscles and vary the intensity of the exercise.
